Seaborn Remodel
Bainbridge Island, Washington

This single-family residential project consisted of a total and dramatic remaking of an existing waterfront home on Bainbridge Island, WA. The house was initially purchased in abject disrepair, and could barely be seen from the street it was so overgrown with vines growing up to 10’ on top of, and in some cases, through the house.

Situated on a protected harbor with south facing beach, the remodel and addition was executed with a careful eye toward capturing maximum light and view. Roofs and ceilings were reframed with exposed wood members to add warmth, texture, and volume. The existing footprint of the house was kept, with the exception of a 300 sq. ft. kitchen addition. The interior spaces were reorganized and large wood deck areas were added to accommodate outdoor living and secure play areas for children.
